Brackish & Desalination System
This system is essential for converting seawater or brackish water into high-quality, usable water to meet growing industrial, municipal, and agricultural demands especially in water-scarce regions. These systems must efficiently remove Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and contaminants, while ensuring reliable performance, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. We offer tailored desalination solutions that integrate proven technologies such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), designed to suit diverse water quality requirements and operational conditions. From intake and pretreatment to final polishing, our comprehensive approach ensures optimal system performance, reduced lifecycle costs, and minimal environmental impact, supporting sustainable water security for communities and industries worldwide.
Feed Water Source: Brackish Water / Seawater
Type | TDS Range | Source |
|---|---|---|
Brackish Water | 1,000 – 10,000 mg/L | Mix of freshwater and seawater; found in estuaries, coastal aquifers |
Seawater | ~35,000 mg/L | Oceans |
These high-salinity waters are not suitable for most uses without treatment due to:
Damage to Household Plumbing and Appliances
Reduced Quality of Daily Water Usage
Harm to Plants and Gardens
Process Flow
Desalination Treatment
This is the core process where TDS is significantly reduced using Reverse Osmosis technology.
How It Works :
- High-pressure pumps force saline water through a semi-permeable membrane.
- Membrane allows water molecules to pass but retains dissolved salts and impurities.
Typical Output :
- TDS reduction : From ~35,000 mg/L (seawater) to < 500 mg/L (depending on application)
- Water recovery rate : Typically 40 to 55% for seawater RO (SWRO), higher for brackish RO (BWRO)
Desalinated Water
Distribution for Non-Potable Use
The desalinated water, now with reduced TDS, is distributed via a dedicated non-potable water.
